Naughty, 2011 - 02/09/2023 cam

Naughty was a TNR kitten who ended up living indoors with me for almost 10 years. He had the distinction of being the only feral I've trapped twice--food was that important to him.

After feeding him outside for his first year of life, when I moved it was only fair to take him along. However, he didn't react well to being put in a carrier and transported, resulting in skittishness that lasted the rest of his life. From that point on, he and I had an understanding that he would be left alone and not touched. However, he lived comfortably in the house and had 10 good years of quality life.

Because of an upcoming move, and because he seemed a little lethargic, recently I made the decision to catch him and take him to the veterinarian for an exam. To my shock, bloodwork revealed that he was in an advanced stage of diabetes. The vet was surprised--he seemed outwardly healthy--she had even given vaccines before the lab finished, because based on his appearance she didn't think he had any major health issues. Because there was no way to handle him for treatment, I made the decision--with the vet's recommendation--to euthanize. At least his illness was discovered before his condition deteriorated significantly.

He was named "Naughty" because the end of his tail constantly twitched, as though he was always contemplating or carrying out some mischievous activity.

The photo shows him glaring at me after ripping up some carpeting, one of his favorite hobbies. He was a very sweet boy who also enjoyed sunbathing, playing with other cats, and treats. He is much loved and missed.

NORMAN ROSE, July 19’th 2023 cam

Norman came to us in 2012 as a rescue from
A puppy mill.
He has been the light of our lives. He passed away from
heart failure in July 2023.
Our hearts are broken 💔🐾… and we will love our best boy forever.
We were blessed for the short time we enjoyed with him.

Nutmeg, 11/6/2011 - 12/3/2022 cam

Nutmeg, my sweet girl, my heart is so broken without you. You filled my heart and our home with so much light and joy every day. Watching you do zoomies, play with your games, and dig in your cage always always brought such a smile to my face. But most of all, I loved watching you do your bunny flops. You were the queen of relaxation and flopping over to  show me that cute white belly. You were always so excited for your pellets and treats and even for your daily medicines. It always made my heart so happy. You were my emotional support bunny through all the hard times 2022 brought my way and I needed you even more than you needed me. Thank you for being the bestest and beautifulest little bun in the world. Thank you for the very best 11 years together. I’m so thankful and lucky that I got to be your bunny mom. There is forever a Nutmeg shaped hole in my heart without. I love you so much my sweet girl.
